My little sister is 8 yrs old and this has been going on for a few weeks now. She started off with a bad tummy and feeling sick which put her off eating for a few days as she thought she was going to be sick. She is quite slim anyway and in total now has lost 6lbs.

Weeks later she is still not really eating anything and says her tummy hurts. She has had blood tests which have come back normal, urine normal. Doc is referring her to a pedeatrition (sp) hopefully get an appointment this week.

Today for instance she has eaten 1 biscuit all day.

I do think people are putting pressure on her to eat and I keep saying dont put pressur eon her and watch her eat. She even knows mum is talking about it as she hears her on the phone etc. Im not sure if this is more in depth and an attention thing but has anyone come across this beofre or got any advice please?

Hmm how does her tummy hurt? Maybe she has an allergy - can 8 year olds get irritable bowel syndrome? I know if i eat cows milk based items (anything with butter or hard cheese) i get the most painful stomach cramps and it really hurts. A friend at school had Candida which meant no wheat for her - maybe she should see a dietician and get tested for allergies. If it hurts her to eat then she simply won't want to.

And if nothing comes up from that then it may be a control thing - any major changes at home or school lately?

Sorry you are all going through this. Hope it resolves soon.
