Suggestions to stop 18 mth DS chewing his (wooden) cot??

Hi,
Our DS2 eats everything in sight, including his bed! He is slowly making his way through it by scraping his teeth at the sides of the end panels so not able to put one of those plastic bumpers on the areas he's eating.
Any suggestions what we could put on it to stop him that's obviously safe if he does ingest it? I was thinking of painting vinegar on it. Does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks!

My Ds used to do this too! I didn't have an answer at the time, but if Dd had done it, I'd have used a nail biting liquid like Stop n Grow and painted that on the ends of the cot. It ought to work as it's foul tasting!

Thanks v much for replying my message & thanks for the suggestion, might give it a go - remember the stuff from my own childhood!

Keep telling him NO very very firmly too.

Give him some other hard ish thing to chew?

Ours did this too, but on top of the plastic. Odd bods, aren't they?!

No, he does it when he's awake & the rest of us are still asleep, probably trying to eat his way out to find us! Also he's not too good at responding to discipline just yet, usually just laughs at me. Like the idea of a chew toy though, will give it a go, thanks!
