Getting rid of the bottle!

How can I stop my 17month old from having a bottle in the daytime? She still has at least 3 milk bottles in the day and if I give her milk to her in a beaker she screams the place down and keeps shouting "bot, bot" at me!! Shes not a huge juice drinker but her and her brother drink loads of milk. How am I going to get her out of it? Any suggestions??xx

How about trying her with a smoothie, its similar to milk but is kind of juice?
If the issue is that you want to get rid of the bottle then how about trying her with a bottle with handles and a hard teat which is free flow. My DD is also 17 months and she has one bottle before bed and she uses a bottle with handles. Im using it as a between bottle and cup stage!

Thanks for that. I'll try her with a smoothie. She does have a beaker with a teat that she will drink out of but she insists on having her bottle and I worry about her teeth!

go cold tukey in the day, it will be hard work but eventually your dd will understand that if she wants a drink she'll have to have it out of a beaker or sippy cup
good luck
don't worry about the bottle just before bed, dd only dropped hers at 2.6 I think it was

Thanks. As you say I'm not too bothered about the night ones but I really want her to get rid of the bottle in the day. I think the best way is as you say and just go cold turkey but my daughter has such a temper that I guess I've been putting it off!!

lol.yes do it now. my 2 and half yr old dd is now having tantrums to end all tantrums, I've never seen hormones like it don't leave it too late

Ok I'm gonna try it tommorrow. I'll brace myself and get the headache tablets ready! She has tantrums bad now so I dread to think what she'll be like. My son is so placid and laid back and she is the complete opposite. They do say girls are harder I suppose!!
