Anyone else's child do this? Why?

DS has started doing this thing where he keeps asking me the same thing over and over again.
But he's 6 (not 3!)

Eg yesterday morning he thought he'd left a toy outside and asked me to go and look as he hadn't been able to find it. I said I'd do it when I was showered and dressed.

Three times I started to go up the stairs to get ready and he called me so I went back down to see what he wanted and he wanted to tell me that he really wanted me to look for his toy quickly.

There have been a number of incidents like this in the last few days. I know he'd heard what I said about having a shower first time because he said 'can't you go straight away to look for the toy' and I'd explained that it was ok for him to go out in the garden in pjs, but I wasn't comfortable doing it myself.

Yes, dd1 (6) does this all the time, it drives me mad. I am constantly saying that I can only do one thing at a time and I will help her when I have finished what I am doing and NOT before. She honestly expects me to drop everything and do what she wants instantly. I have no idea why she thinks this as I am one of the laziest people I know!!

With us it is not a pestering thing. I appreciate that sometimes it is difficult for them to wait and we do get pestering, but this is different.

Eg We told him a couple of times we would be dropping in at the supermarket before we went to the swimming pool.

When we were in the car, he asked 'Where are we going first, swimming or the supermarket?'
