got 21 month old who walks ok, does not "run", but trips a lot and cant come down steps etc yet or over doorframes etc

when roughly would you expect them to be more confident?

also my little one on the side has a tendency to throw himself at you when playing and forgets there is a floor etc...just becomes a mass of jelly...and falls to floor..not seen any other toddler do this...does yours?

many injuries sustained this way...today hubb went to get him - he threw hinmself to sit and then threw himself even further to floor banging head on tarmar straight on the back!

if your child is 21mo now, how old was he when he started to walk?

I'm asking because my DS started to walk with help at age 10mo, was walking by himself at 12mo and now, at 17mo, is a confident runner (although does still trip), gets himself up and down small steps although needs help with big steps and is pretty stable. So maybe it is not the age so much as the time after starting to walk that you need to look at.

DS still throws himself at me and also backwards, forgetting that he may well hit the floor, but doesn't go to jelly particularly.
