Jealousy - how best to deal with?

My ds is 22 months and is very jealous wheneve I cuddle a friends child/baby. I know this must be quite normal, but how do I deal with it?? Luckily (!) he doesn't hit out etc, but he cries his little heart out like it is breaking. I cuddle him at the same time so he knows he's not being replaced...... Do I try to ignore (hard) or avoid helping out any of my friends?? I just feel so sorry for him, but at the same time feel he has to learn that it's ok for mummy to help other children.

Its difficult but your DS will have to accept that you sometimes have to or want to hold other babies. Do you let him hold the baby?
Can't really offer any advice but bump incase someone else can.

Hmmmm, might be an idea LM. Hadn't really thought of trying to involve him (luckily we're not planing any more additions to our family, so he won't have to suffer that!) Will give it a go next time the opportunity arises
