At what age did your Dc understand an either or choice?

At the moment DD just says yes to everything!

Me: Do you want marmite or jam on your toast DD?
DD: Yes!

Holding each jar up - marmite? (yes! mite!) or jam? (yes! cham!)

Maybe she does want both but I doubt it...

I think my DDs were able to understand choice pretty early on - maybe 12-18 months - though TBH i cant remember exactly .
I used to hold up the choices and get them to point

heh apostrophe - yes, definitely been there. Though I don't think I'm as good as you at offering choices all the time!

DD is nearly 20 months and understands some quite complicated instructions but other things just don't compute yet. I find the development fascinating though.
