18 month old DS still not walking- should I be concerned?

My DS was late with weight bearing and standing, he can do these OK now and stands to play with his toys, leans against furniture and cruises along furniture and also can use his push along walker fine. He can take about max 10 steps walking when you hold both his hands. But he is showing no signs of walking on his own yet, he won't even walk holding on to one hand.

Is this Ok or should I be worried? I think that he will get there eventually but my DH is really worried given all his peers have been walking for months now.

Don't compare-he will do it in his own time. He is doing all the preliminary stuff so I would only worry if he was sitting still and not making any effort.

There's no harm in asking your health visitor. I know a little boy who was very late with walking, he was referred to a paediatrician and was given some physiotherapy. No problems were ever found, he was just late with walking.
