Anyone else's DC hate their buggy and/or car seat?

Our DD is 4.5 months and really doesn't like being in either. There is the odd exceptional day when she doesn't seem to mind, but mostly she starts grizzling which often leads to full-on hysteria. I can - and frequently do - carry her in the sling instead of the buggy, but she's getting really heavy (7.5kg!) and walking everywhere with the weight of her on me has made an old knee injury flare up again. And sadly there's no alternative to the car seat, so car journeys are awful as I can't get her out to cuddle/comfort her (or I can, but it means frequent stops).

Does anyone have any advice? I'd love any help or ideas. I should probably had that she has silent reflux but it's been being treated with medication for the last 7 weeks (very successfully, it seems - but possibly this behaviour is actually reflux-related?)

My ds was exactly the same, pretty much from birth! He never dropped off to sleep in the pram like most newborns, he was always wide awake. before long he was bored and screaming through most journeys, car seat and buggy.

I changed to a sling at 5 mo and it worked for a while, he loved it, and fell asleep instantly, but he soon started hating that too. I swapped between sling, buggy, and being carried, up until he could walk,and then he walked everywhere!

Funnily enough he is 2 next month and has suddenly started liking the buggy! He gets in, holds a fave toy, and drops off quite happily. Not too great in car seat, but as I don't drive, I put it down to not being used to cars.

Sorry there is not much advice there, but I do sympathise. I got sick of all the pitying looks I'd get pushing him along, screaming constantly, it was horrible.

My ds was like this. He now likes his pushchair but only since he turned 1. He still hates the car and he's 21 months. I don't drive but whenever we want to go on a family day out then it's pretty strssful!
