Does your baby girl scream??

This probably sounds daft but my boys cried when they were hungry, tired ect ...

But DD screams, she is 4 months old and its terrifying!

I never took the phrase 'screams like a girl' literally,

is it a girl thing?

Its a really girly scream like a film, its really unnearving!

DD (11 months) has taken to doing extremely loud high pitched ear piercing screams when she is having a particularly fun time.

I worry what the neighbours are thinking because it sounds as if someone is being murdered.

My dd is 7 months and she definately screams with excitement, her brother has never made a screaming noise.

My DD is 3 months old and she can scream the place down! I was shocked the first time she did it because it was so loud and she was right next to my ear.

She screams when she is tired, excited and hungry.

I am used to it now but I always wonder if the neighbours think I am torturing her!

Ds gave an almighty, ear piercing, glass shattering scream last night when I took him out of the bath, so maybe it's not just a girl thing.

I find it quite amusing, once Ive cleaned the poop out of my pants

You wait till she's 10mths and just does it for fun.
I honestly spent about 2 mths scared to go anywhere public with her so as to not get all those nasty-old-biddy stares at badly-behaved child....

poshsinglemum · 24/04/2009 12:42

My dd does this; for fun, when annoyed for attention. It's a bit taxing isn't it!

marmoset · 24/04/2009 12:45

Yes, she does and I nearly took her to hospital one night thinking that something awful was up. She burped and stopped but it was definitely quite unnerving. Her brother was VERY LOUD but less high pitched

EachPeachPearMum · 24/04/2009 12:48

Yes she did [haggard emoticon]
DS (11weeks) rarely cries loudly- very placid baby.

I'm sure it's their personality/temperament not their gender though!

EachPeachPearMum · 24/04/2009 12:49

Oh marmoset we did exactly the same thing...

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 24/04/2009 12:51

Ds didn't.

Dd screamed 24/7 for more than 6 months, though miraculously shut up in other peoples company most of the time.
