Wallace · 27/04/2005 19:52

the awful news is....they never grow out of it

My mum has five of us ranging from 13 to 28. And she still gets "Mum look at this!!!" from all of us at the same time

TheVillageIdiot · 27/04/2005 19:57

Oh I get it to and dd is not even 3 yet.

haven · 27/04/2005 20:12

i think you are right about 5 51/2..dd wouldn't even go play outside alone, we had to go sit and watch her...LOL

zebraX · 27/04/2005 20:15

DH is 30 and still hasn't grown out of it....

TwoIfBySea · 27/04/2005 21:01

Both my dst (age 3) are going through this stage. Dst1 in particular is really insistant that I forget whatever I am doing (including driving) and take notice immediately!

zebraX you have destroyed my hope that it would be something they grew out of!

swiperfox · 27/04/2005 21:03

My three year old grabs my head in both hands and manhandles it into position to watch if I don't turn to look immediately - so I can't even get away with a noncommital "uh-huh, that's lovely, sweetie" while keeping my eyes glued to MN or the newspaper.

Demented · 27/04/2005 21:06

Splutter! ZebraX, that is so true!

BTW slight hijack are you the same Zebra or a new Zebra?

swiperfox · 27/04/2005 21:06

snap marthamoo - whatever my dd is doing she watches me while i'm meant to be watching her to see if i'm watching (!?!?!) and if i dont watch she shouts even louder "Mummy you didn't watch me - watch me!!!!!"

My daughter is 10 and still does it! In actual fact, no lie! She just this minute came downstairs dressed as a mountaineer and said watch this and proceeded to climp up my door!

bobbybob · 28/04/2005 02:31

After a rainy weekend of throwing our newspapers on the floor and demanding we played with him I thought he had finally cracked it. Yesterday my ds came out of the room where he was playing with some friends and said. "Mummy, I'm playing on my own, come and see!" Hum, maybe not then.
