Hi

My DS is 2.3 and has suddenly starting to refuse to wear certain clothes that he was quite happy wearing before. I have to stand there in the morning and let him decide what to wear and if I pick something that he doesnt like well lets say they dont stay on very long!!!!

please tell me hes not the only one!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of "I'm a separate person and can make my own choices"! I think it's pretty typical that when they get to about this age, they will exercise their individuality .

You could try to reduce the hassle by giving him 2 choices of outfit. Or just hide anything which is completely wrong for the season to avoid the "shorts in the snow, wooly hat in midsummer" choices.

But I used to just let DS choose his own outfits most of the time, as it's good practice at making their own decisions, in an area which isn't going to have any serious risks if they get it "wrong".

agree with amuminscotland, you need to choose your battles and unles he want to play in the snow in a swimming cossie, this battle is not really worth fighting
