DS toenail is falling off

DS is 19 months and it looks like his big toe nail is falling off, it isn't black or anything but it looks like it is coming away at the top of his nail and about half way down now. Will it just fall off and regrow do you think or do I need to be doing anything to help it?

It'll grow back, I'm sure. He's probably knocked it. - I am not a doctor this is just my opinion. I think you could ask HV next time you see them, maybe there's some sort of fungal thing that can cause this?

Sorry for possibly the most unhelpful post in the history of mumsnet.

this happened with all ds toenails. doctors could not explain it after all sorts of tests for infections and virus's.

dd who has now reached same age seems to be heading ame way.

doesn't do any harm as far as i can see unless they catch them early and it rips to the quick.
