Baby who screams at being in a pram on anything but a smooth surface. Help!

My little girl, 4 months, absoutely SCREAMS when she is in the pram and the surface is at all uneven. I live in a urban area, and on the whole pavements are smoothish, but the moment we hit a bump, cobble stone etc she screams. I slow down to a snail to walk her... but it then takes ages to get anywhere.

Anyone ever experienced this? I have a Mamas and Papas pram, with no suspension or anything, and someone suggested I buy a Mura or something with suspension and air tyres as that may help. Just wondered if anyone has ever had a baby that has reacted like this?

Thanks

Could there be a physical reason? Maybe the bumps are hurting in some way? Might be worth asking the doctor or paediatrician to check her over to make sure there isn't a physical cause. Does she like being jiggled in your arms? If she usually likes movement (even gentle movement, being held) then perhaps that's it?

Does she have a neck problem (torticollis)- does she use both sides of her head to sleep on? Tort can make jarring painful....
