5 Year old DD constantly on the scout for food...

DD is 5, I know she's probably on a growth spurt, she is tall for her age and weighs 3 stone, well within usual parameters for a child her age, she's a slim build with long limbs and I have trouible finding clothes that fit properly as she's got a very small waist.

Over the last few weeks, she's been demanding food when at home all day (and whilst we are out). This is what she's eaten today:

Cereal at breakfast
Yogurt about 9am
Piece of Marmite cheese
Sandwich, jelly and stawberries for lunch
Another bowl of cereal mid-afternoon
Filled pasta and egg for dinner
Ice cream cone after dinner
Will have a glass of milk and a biscuit before bed

Is this too much? I am worried as it's way more than she'd usually ask for.

Any advice/ideas or just reassurance would be most welcome. I realise I'm probably fussing about nothing though.

That's about the sort of amount my DS (who is 4) often eats, he is tall and skinny and small-waisted too. They are growing, pretty much constantly, and as long as they are active and have a varied diet, I'd say let them eat as much as they want.

that's less than my 5yr old DS puts away every day - and that's when he's not going through a growth spurt

You have described dd1 but mine eats more than yours

So I reckon it's normal for the long-limbed ones

BTW: DS has had today
1 banana
1 pot of fromage frais
Handful of cornflakes without milk

Snack at playgroup (handful of grapes, handful of chopped apple, few slices of banana, handful of assorted unhealthy cornstarch things like Monster Munch and Quavers, mini swiss roll)

Chicken and vegetable risotto
2 more fromage frais

A pear
2 chocolate cupcakes
3 sausage rolls.

He may well have another fromage frais or cake or sausage roll before bedtime...

DS2 is off his food a bit at the moment, got a sore throat and cough but today he's had (that I can remember )

big bowl of cereal for breakfast
couple of biscuits and an most of an apple mid morning
ham sandwich, cheese, cucumber and more apple for lunch
banana this afternoon
couple of biscuits
and he's just had 3 slices of pizza, some garlic bread and a mozzarella stick.

DD has had:

1 bowl of porridge and a bowl of Malties (cheap Shreddies)
A slice of toast

Some raisins and a chewy bar thing

A picnic lunch (roll, mini scotch eggs, cocktail sausages, cherry toms, crisps, raspberries, flapjack)

Some grapes

Risotto with bacon
Yogurt

I think she's having a growth spurt atm
