Contact police, local news channels, local and national papers for a start.

flightattendant19 · 06/04/2009 15:06

Oh dear. Have they checked his computer use, ie history and emails, maybe he was arranging to meet someone?

DesperateHousewifeToo · 06/04/2009 15:08

Think of any links he might have with Manchester. Does he know people there? Contact all his friends to ask if he spoke to them about going anywhere.

I should think the police will have other suggestions.

Hope he turns up soon, safe and well.

madwomanintheattic · 06/04/2009 15:08

nothing to do except make sure ds can talk to you if he needs to. does he know what motiated it etc? i wouldn't push, but make sure he can talk if he wants to.
fingers crossed his friend gets bored/ fed up/ runs out of money and creeps back soon x

madwomanintheattic · 06/04/2009 15:08

Agree contact anyone and everyone you can think of to get his pic out there straight away. Some one might have noticed where he went.

Also does he have any friends/relatives that live in Manchester or anywhere along the train route? Contact them.

Does your friend have access to his email/chat accounts/facebook? He may have made new friends he has gone off with, she should check them.

Contact the school to speak with all of his friends. He could have told some one where he is going.

lovethatname · 06/04/2009 15:10

The police will have it all under control I'm sure... was there a stop before manchester....

Is he the missing boy we have just seen on North West Tonight?
I really hope for the best possible outcome for your friends family, will be thinking of them, sorry, I have no better advice than th ones already given.

chocolateshoes · 06/04/2009 15:18

that must be him - haven't seen tv - hope so - at least that should help - was he mixed race, curly hair, very tall?

Gorionine · 06/04/2009 15:31

Yes, I think it is him I saw in the latest news flash. I cannot find the report on the website. It will probably be on again at 18.30.

chocolateshoes · 06/04/2009 15:37

thnaks. I just looked on web site too & couldn't find it. This is so awful. Feel really helpless.

The only thing you can do is be there for your friend. I cannot even start imagining what she must be going through. It must be hard for you as well.

chocolateshoes · 06/04/2009 15:43

i think he may have gone to search for his real dad who he (we think) has no contact with & hasn't seen for 10 yrs. How could I search for him? I only have a name...

OP posts:
Gorionine · 06/04/2009 15:49

Could he have somehow heard of where his dad lives? If he does know the full name of his dad as well he might have managed to contact him through internet or even the yellow pages? Is it at all possible that his dad would have contacted him? FWIW I think it is probably one of the first line of enquiery the police will go for.

chocolateshoes · 06/04/2009 15:56

I wonder if his dad has contacted him without the est of his family knowing. Am trying to search him on pc now but he has a very common name so not getting far...

Facebook? Myspace? Twitter? Have any family/friends given him info about his father?

You have to watch the repeat on the bbc news page to see the clip. It isn't a headline story.

chocolateshoes · 06/04/2009 16:04

will go and try myspace 7 twitter. Not on facebk - unless he is one without a photo. His mum hasn't had much contact with the dad either and doesn't know where he is so unlikely that he has been given info. However I do think it a possibility that the dad may have tracked him down and got in touch

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 06/04/2009 16:06

Does she have his Facebook and myspace passwords to check his accounts? If he has tracked him down surely it will be on there?

Make sure she has given the police the info that she does have about his father.

chocolateshoes · 06/04/2009 16:14

no her ds doesn't use nay of those accounts & his mates have confrimed this.

There has been a programme on BBC each morning called "Missing" can you contact them?

I am shocked at how many teenagers go missing but it is never on the news.

Hope he comes home soon.

poshtottie · 06/04/2009 16:28
