Pushchair advice please - double or not?!

I'm pregnant with my third - expected in August.

My first son was younger when my second was born, but no worries about needing a double buggy - he walked everywhere NICELY, didn't get tired.

My second is a different matter though. He doesn't run into roads, but he DOES run. Plus he is still a very "young" boy - he will be three and a half when the next one comes, and right now, I can't picture not putting him in the buggy for things like wet school runs, shopping trips.

Am I best off trying to train him between now and then, or am I going to have to start saving for a double pushchair thing? If parents of runners can advise on what they did please - if you had a calm serene one like DS1, then it is easier to judge and say that it will be fine and he will learn... as I did!

If it was me I would just get a single. I would take a sling with me so if DS needs he can get in the buggy and you can put the baby in the sling.

I was thinking about the sling option. I love slings anyway tbh

Best sort for portability is a mei tai or woven wrap. They are basically just material so easily folded up and put into a changing bag.

DD has always been the slow sensible one.. and I know for sure that if I was to have another DS (now 23mths) I'd def get a double buggy, he runs and doesn't always look where he's going!

Could you get a buggy board or a sling perhaps?

I have a BB for DD & DS, Ds is in the buggy 90% of the time & 3yo dd on the BB but it does vary sometimes dd goes in the buggy and ds on the bb

Our DS will be 3 when our new baby arrives. We are getting a buggy board in the next month or so, so that DS can get used to using it before the baby arrives. He is absolutely used to being in the pushchair, so we want him to have plenty of time to get used to using the buggy board instead.

I'm not a big fan of slings (nothing wrong with them, but I just am uncomfortable with them), so that's not an option for us.
