DS won't let dp settle him on a night

Ds is 21 weeks and for over a week now has screamed blue murder when dp has taken him to bed. Previous to this we used to take it in turns. Really don't know what to do about it as it is upsetting us all. Dp feels useless and is beginning to feel that Ds doesn't like him and i am getting tired of looking after Ds all day and now having to settle him in bed each evening which normally takes anything up to an hour

We have tried dp taking him to bed every night but after half an hour of screaming, i take over and Ds settles immediately. Should i be doing this or leaving dp to it?

I went out on Fri for the first time in weeks and Ds cried for an hour and a half while dp tried to settle him. He eventually cried himself to sleep. (DS that is not dp! )

DS is fine with dp in day and always has the biggest smiles for him so it's very confusing.

Also, another point to mention is that Ds cried for two hours while i went shopping on Wed. He was with grandparents. They called me after two hours and as soon as i took him back he was all smiles.

Anybody got any advice/experience as it is getting us all down? Thanks

tis a phase no doubt!

how about you both putting him down together for a week, with you gradually switching to milling around in the background? Might work!

We are in the process of trying that at the mo but if dp holds him or comes near him at bedtime he screams the house down. I can cuddle him so he's nearly alseep and hand him over to dp but he wakes immediately and cries.

Am hoping this phrase doesn't last long
