my 6 mth old hasnt rolled over yet

dd1 was rolling over by 4 mths if i remember correctly - dd2 is not showing any signs of this. does anyone think i should be worried or should i be trying to encourage her - how?

ds didn't roll over til about 6 months iirc

Ds didn't roll till 10 months. Dd had been walking at 11! Don't worry - it's just to prove that they're all different

I wouldnt be too worried as they all develop at their own pace. Some babies dont roll but im sure she will get there soon x

just wondered - i have a feeling shes not going to crawl. dd1 developed completely differently - she rolled early so therefore (i assume) thats why she crawled early. maybe dd2 will go straight to walking? she sits up well

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Dd3 rolled over once at about 4 months (think it was a fluke tbh) and then never did it again until after she could crawl at about 7/8 months.

so tabitha did you lie dd3 on her front quite a lot so she could crawl? then she started rolling over?

dd2 loves lying on her tummy, holds her head up well

Nailpolish - if she sits up well, she could end up being a bum shuffler. dd never rolled until 11 months, hated being on her front (and to be honest I didn't force it as she used to cry so much), but could sit unassisted at 5.5 months. Has become an expert bum-shuffler....and moves at considerable speed!

Not really nailpolish. I tried lying her on her tummy but she hated it.
She actually started 'bottom-shuffling' before she crawled. I thought she was going to miss crawling out altogether but then one day she changed from bottom shuffling to crawling on all fours and then after that she rolled over although even then she didn't do it very much.
It's wierd how different kids are because I remember one of my others loved rolling and used to move right across the room doing it.

To be honest it was a bit of a pain when ds started rolling over as he would get stuck on his tummy and that would wake him up in the night so we had to go in and roll him back. Now he sometimes sits up in his cot and howls so we have to lie him back down again!

lol at bunshuffling - its amazing how they get around! i think its nice that shes different from dd1 - i should stop comparing

Oh if only dd2 would just lie on the floor we are fast approaching 2 yrs and the whole world is just waiting to be climbed - starting with the ladder into the loft last night. I thought it'd gone quiet.........so make the most of the keeping still np

lucy - the silences are suspicious arent they?! dd1 is always up to something if there is a silence too

so there is no order of things - i have realised this now, bumshuffling/crawling/rolling. they do it in different orders to keep us on our toes i think

She was quite happily sitting in the loft with a bag of baby clothes, pulling everything out and really couldn't understand why I was worried/angry/cross all at the same time - needless to say we had terrible trouble getting her out of there - that's when dh's are useful - big bad daddy

My DD never rolled until gone 7 months now I can't keep her off her front she never wants to sit up she just flips herself over! Great fun at nappy changing time - not!
