Three year old with lisp. Speech therapy needed?

Hi!! Haven't posted in ages. My gorgeous three year old lad will turn 4 in July and start school shortly after.

He has a very pronounced lisp. People have said it will go, but I am not so sure.

What can I do about it? Do you think it might go on its own? Anyone have experience of a lisp in their own children? How can I help him myself at home to try to speak without it?

Thanks a lot....

Contact your health visitor and get put on the waiting list for speech therapy as the waiting list is really long. However my DD had a speech delay and the speech therapist said they wouldn't do anything with a lisp unless they were over 7 as most grow out of it by then. Never hurts to check though IMHO
