will your HV not come out to the house?

Are you sure it's not teething? Or possibly ear infection which usually gets worse when you lie them flat, although generally temperature will be raised.

I would have though if it was a 'routine' problem you'd have had problems before now. My 11 month old is just about to drop the morning nap and we've had a few screamy days too. How much sleep is he getting?
Not really sure what to suggest here but trying to get a bigger picture.

How long has the screaming been going on for? It's not clear whether it was just today/last few days or longer than that.

It does sound more likely to be illness though than lack of routine, unless it is from extreme tiredness I wouldn't expect routine problems to cause constant screaming! I too thought of an ear infection or similar as the most likely cause, so keep trying the GP and then if he gives the all-clear you can look into other things.

Has he still been having plenty of wet and dirty nappies? If he is still having wet nappies then you know he is drinking enough. If he has not pooed for a long time though that could be making him uncomfortable... As for sleep, I think at that age around 14 hours total is typical (though babies vary of course..), split between night sleep and naps; so if he is having a lot less than that he might be tired. Good luck!

HI thanks for messages.

sorry was really muddled posting, have calmed down a bit now, managed to cut the grass while my mum had him for a hour.

Think its two seperate issues but they merging together, he does got to bed ok and then wakes up but struggling getting him to sleep in day, but think perhaps I need to be tougher and let him cry more b4 running to get him (last baby and maybe that a bit of an issue) anyway over the last 7-14days I cna't put him down to play even for a minute,he is sceaming almost constantly, where's before he would be happy playing with brothers. I do think it could be teeth but seems to be going for so long and now sign of teeth, my other boys seemed to have few days being unhappy then tooth would appear.

I have dr's appointment for this afternoon to check ears, throat. Have just let him cry himself to sleep and it only took few minutes so perhaps he over tired from being under weather.

HV coming to house friday so should be easier than busy clinic.

Sorry to ramble just feeling very low about it all. thanks for reading.

Have found him such an easy baby until now and feel very useless mum at the moment as not coping well with this.
