Older fathers and older mothers

So I am very confused my dh is an older father so kids will do less well developmentally, but I am classed as an older mother so they should do well??????

Never heard that one! Dd's dad was almost 50 when she was born and I was almost 43...what can I hope for? she's 2.2.

Wtf??? DH was 49 when DD was born. I was 37. Thinks she's done fine regardless of our ages.

I always thought that children of older parents were supposed to be brighter. I assumed that meant both parents.
