I am breast feeding my gorgeous DD, but have bought a breast pump so that DH can feed and I can get a bit of extra sleep in the early hours!
I'm not sure how many oz I should be pumping per bottle??
Can anyone help pleeeease.
Also, does anyone know if it's true that breast milk can be refrigerated for up to 6 days?
Thanks

iirc it is about 4oz, then she can always leave some if she's full

congrats by the way

When you start expressing you may not get much ... it gets easier with practise. You can offer her as much or little as you like / have to start with. With a bit of experience you and DH will work out how much she will take in a feed (2-4 oz seems plausible but it changes as they grow). If you can express that much in one go , great if not no worry, she has what you have expressed and next feed may be slightly sooner.

Yes- can be stored in fridge for surprisingly long time- full of anti bacterial stuff you see.

A good article on expressed breast milk including storage times can be found at www.llli.org/NB/NBJulAug07p168.html

Congrats and go for it, you can do it.

Dawnus do bear in mind that if you sleep when your DD is feeding by bottle at night you may get engorged. In the early days it is often much easier and less painful to just BF.
