Has anyone else been to one yet?

I have one coming up and just wanted to know what they expect.
Just his vocabliary is perhaps not as good as a two year old should be. He does say a few things and can make himself understood. I just dont want them to make a big deal out of it.

none of my children have ever had a 2 year check - they are all fine!

Dreamergirl · 07/03/2009 16:34

I know some places dont do them now.
He seems fine to me.

It's very low key.
HV will engage your child in play, get them to point at things, build towers, say things etc. (DS loved his - revelled in the attention.)
If you are at all worried about your DS language it's a good opportunity to talk about it.

My dd had to climb stairs, build a tower, thread some cotton reels and draw a circle, didnt really ask her to say anything but if you are worried about sppech bring it up cos referrals can take a long time

When DS2 had his 2 year check, HV brought him a book, some crayons, and just observed him playing really. Nothing major.

Thanks, I am not concerned about his speach. According to the leaflet I got he should be able to do sentences which he cant do and say about 200 words. No.
Everything else he is fine with.
Proberbly wont be able to draw a circle but that my fault.
