DS (13 MO) has just learnt to "kiss" - be careful though, it comes with teeth, and, if you're lucky, a tongue.

DS started giving me hugs at 7 months old - well, he plasters himself against me, buries his head in to my neck and does pelvic thrusts when I pick him up from nursery!

DD 11mo has been kissing for a little while, they are open mouthed and very sloppy! She is just learning how to do pecks on the lips.

It is lovely!

i've been having pretend reciprocal hugs for ages - if his arm's round my neck that counts as a hug!

At about 6-7 months DS would slobber against my cheek and we called these kisses.
From about 12 months, he did more puckered kisses with a "mwah" noise. Very cute, despite the associated snot/slobber/teeth!

Indiechick · 04/03/2009 12:42

She's just started 11 months, they're big sloppy with a tongue stuck out kisses, I love them!

kizzib · 04/03/2009 13:29

at about 6 months, if we said 'kissy', she would bring her open mouth to ours.

Now at 12 months she has learned to smack her lips when we go 'mwah' - so kind of blowing kisses...

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 04/03/2009 13:30

About 10 months big, wet, open mouth ones ahhhhhhhh.

Longo · 04/03/2009 13:35

My DD 7 months gives open mouth kiss with tongue but I love them!

oliviasmama · 04/03/2009 13:37

Big open mouthed wet wet wet kisses at about 10 months, these have lasted quite a long time, they still come and go but we have now progressed onto smacking of the puckered lips, dd 17 months, so long awaited but blinkin worth it, just love the kissing, even today's which come with a runny nose too!

stainesmassif · 04/03/2009 16:52

About 16 months. And if you ask her for a kiss 9 times out of 10 she says no and runs off

But it makes it that much more special when you do get one

oliviasmama · 04/03/2009 19:35

Yep, my DD too. Not allowed one if you ask!

No hugs or cuddles here either without a rare and special dispensation. Running away and laughing at us seems to be the order of the day!

Cheeky little beggar...
