16 mth DS throwing his toys in the air

He has a soft ball which he loves throwing, but has now taken to throwing every toy in the air.

We are saying 'no' firmly, but he finds it all hilarious and continues doing it, with even more gusto!

Please tell me this passes, everything is being subject to breakneck speeds through the air at the moment.

Thanks

It's a phase. My DS did this. It will pass. Avoid him being able to reach breakables and metal objects!

thankyou. hope it passes soon!

Yes, mine did this.
It got quite bad and he didnt respond to firm "NO", so in the end i warned that i would take what ever it was off him....if he did it again, it went in a high cupbourd for a day. he got it back the next day.

The message soon sank in but i had to follow through and take the item off him after a warning.
Had several toys in that cupbourd for a while, but then he got the message and stopped after one warning.
Tis a phase, just an annoying one.

Just purse your lips and make sure you don't laugh at him, find a really interesting other thing to do, a book/puzzle etc so he stops to come and see what you are doing.

Most of all repeat after me 'this too, will pass'.

Yes, try not to react to it. I started taking the things away that he threw. After a while he realised that throwing a toy resulted in it going away until the next day. I put it where he could see it and everytime he asked for it, I would tell him that it was there because he threw it and he could have it tomorrow.
