Dear All

Please help. In the last week my 6 and 1/2 month old has started refusing to take the bottle the week before I go back to work full time and she starts at nursery. She was absolutley fine with it until 3 days back. She has been ill with some horrible glandular thing with high temps but after a course of antibiotics she appears to be fine (Although she still hates a bath which she used to absolutley love!) She has always had a bottle at between 9 and 10 pm and sometimes during the day but is screaming blue murder now every time we try to feed her.Help?

i would suggest its teething pain. have you tried giving some calpol half an hour before feeding? or rub some teething gel on ten mins before?

Thanks moocowme - I will try that.

also have you tried distracting while feeding? watching something colourful on TV, singing silly songs etc. I found once I could sneak the bottle in it was ok feeding after that.

You could start to try her with a spouted cup of some variety.
