Crying and screaming at nap time- 5 month old (HELP!)

My DD is 5 months old (but early so about 3 months corrected). She has up until this week been great at sleeping and going down for naps. But just this week she has started crying when I lay her down and becomes inconsolable. she wakes and cries the minute I leave the room or when she realises I'm not stroking her head. It now takes 45 minutes plus just to get her down and she is so tired- it is awful! It is really stressing me out. She is still good at night- goes down easily at 6pm. Any advice?

Hi Lulu - My DS is 6 months now but about a month ago I posted an identical post to you! DS had been a great napper, suddenly all went pear-shaped during the day, inconsolable, couldn't get him down at all, screamed if I left the room but was still okay at night. I think ours was down to teething (any signs?) - it lasted a few (terrible) days and I took him out in the pushchair a lot. He then had a feeding frenzy growth spurt. But it then all ended as quickly as it began. He now naps even better than before.

Not sure if this helps - but to say that it will end. I was at my wit's end. But now all is good (well, if you discount the broken nights that is...)
