DS is just over 5 months. Following the Baby Whisperer's advice (in her book!) we gave him a dummy when he was about 4 weeks old and he goes to sleep like a dream. He only has it to sleep. He's sleeping through from 7pm to 5.30am but (the same old story) we are up a couple of times a night to put his dummy back in.
A few times when I've been on my own he's not woken me up in the night and I've found him in the morning still asleep and sucking his thumb. It seems to me that he might have woken up, I've not heard him and he's sucked his thumb to go back to sleep.
The Baby Whisperer talks about taking the dummy away at 5 months. How do you get them to sleep without it then? Also is it better to take it away and have him suck his thumb or stick with the dummy and take it away when he's 2 or 3 (or doesn't want it anymore)?
