Hey all just wanted to know if any one has a child that wont chew. Dd just puts in her mouth swirls it around and swallows.......a bit like our little dog...... Have tried showing her chewing with my mouth open also her dad but it just seems to be getting worse..... She has about 14 or 15 teeth so its not like she has an excuse......LOL
Is this normal?????Anyone with ideas ??????

My DS (now 6) used to do this. We ended up sitting there saying "chew, chew, chew" during every mouthful of every meal. We also tried talking to him about teeth and the chant changed to "molar, molar, molar"! It seemed like it went on for ages but looking back it probably wasn't that long. I haven't got any other tips but I'm sure he will grow out of it.

just answered your other thread (I think)

Are you giving her finger foods that she needs to chew?

MrsBadger · 18/02/2009 15:21

what are you feeding her that she can swallow without chewing?!

goldfox · 20/02/2009 12:08

She is practically eating what we eat....... but things like pasta cut up into bite size pieces are still soft enough for her to just swallow..........Sometimes i end up feeding her myself so i can monitor her......
I guess im going to have to be more vigilant with every feeding time legoprincess thanks for your tip will definately be trying that......
If this doesnt seem to work...... i dont know...
