How do I convince Flameboy that sleeping alone is good???

He comes into us most nights in the early hours - annoying, but now not an issue as we sleep through it

But he has recently decided he can't fall asleep alone and needs to sleep with DD.

Needless to say she isn't overly impressed, has put up with it a couple of times.

He is now sobbing his heart out in his bedroom because he wants to be in her bed.

How do I break this?!?!

Have read sleep section - oodles of advice on the various reasons for night waking, but none addressing that he just wants an extra body to snuggle into

(Loved the newborns being abandoned to be eaten by bears )

All quiet in there, went to check and turn the light off (don't ask) - he is snuggled up with her again

want to offer advice but I am right now trying to stop myself heading for the beach again.............

it will improve

just not sure when

no help I know, but it does get better...........

((not that psychoboy has 'got better' yet))

Flamesparrow · 15/02/2009 20:00

Tis too bloody cold for the beach. Pubs with log fires are betterer.

Oh and we have tried out the camp at end of bed method - but still no use with the extra body thing

Maybe I can just adopt a similar sized child as him to snuggle with him each night??

When you find out, can you let me know so that I can tell my DS?

psychomum5 · 15/02/2009 20:17

psychoboy wont work then, he still comes searching for me during the night.

re-money............I am on the verge, but I am paying myself a fiver for stress reasons!!!

maybe the beach with a bottle of wine

Frizbe · 15/02/2009 20:18

aww bless her

Flamesparrow · 15/02/2009 22:10

Sooooooooooo... I am assuming that we all have to just sleep with him until he moves in with a girl/boy of his own to snuggle???

Well, my current getting ds to sleep method is treating him as a puppy and taking him for a very long walk every day. He is so tired he falls straight to sleep

If I don't he gets in with dd2 and jumps on her She probably wouldn't mind if he snuggled up, either.

sleepyeyes · 15/02/2009 22:24

I know how your DD feels my sister used to do this to me when we were kids. I always felt guilty and gave in and let her share my bed. This went on until I was 11 and she was 9!

What about one of those talking bears that reads a story?

Flamesparrow · 16/02/2009 10:28

Aww Sleepyeyes - you were a fabulous sister.

Will see about the bear, judging by the dopey response last night though I can't see it working but am trying any and everything!!!
