Imagination - a wonderful but exhausting thing!!!

This morning, my ds (3.3) was a tree, a badger, a squirrel, a Knight in shining armour, a digger and Luke Skywalker, all before breakfast.

It's exhausting!

I actually begged him to be himself, just for a little while, because I can't keep up and I miss just being his mum and not Kipper, or a dragon, or a farmer, or Jabba the Hut....(at 5 months pg that last one is possibly closest to my physical appearance )

I know that it shows he's bright and I don't mind really. I just wondered if anyone else is experiencing the multiple personalities of a 3 year old at the moment?

Hate to say it but my DD is 4.4 and no sign of multiple personalities giving way to just one yet!

She does a fabulous (not) American accent when she is being Barbie which she has taught her best friend at nursery, much to her mum's 'delight'.

In addition to her own vivid imagination, she has a plethora of imaginary friends, top of the pecking order being 'Troy' , and loves to teach classes of imaginary children how to read and write.

I don't knwo where she's coming from most of the time and now I'm at home FT find it very hard work some days, but I'm sure it'll only be a good thing in the long run

Dd (3.5) does this all day long. Her personas are mainly fairies, mermaids or princesses at the moment. Sometimes all three!

She doesn't have imaginary friends yet (her stuffed toys are bit players in her fantasies) - but I had a ton of them so I won't be too surprised if they come along.

My DS is 2.8 and does this. I spent a lot of today being a mummy bat, Penny (from Fireman Sam), or a horse. The phase when we had to be a motorcycle display team was rather trying...
