18mo DS hits himself - should I be worried?

It's not all the time but mostly when he's annoyed or frustrated. I've tried telling him off and ignoring it, but it's a difficult thing to ignore - quite upsetting actually.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Will he grow out of it?

My DD does the same thing occasionally, when shes angry. Shes the same age. I just tell her not to do it as she will hurt herself. Its not nice to see but I dont think its out of the ordinary. x

My DS has done this and is now 2 and doesn't seem to do it now. Ignoring it seems to be the best idea.

I'm sure he'll soon get fed up with it.

xx
