what are your best approaches? I mean sullen teenage eyebrows raised looks, I mean being told I'm mean, I mean shrugs of the shoulders and "so" etc. and name calling.

We are getting the same in our house at the moment from our nine year old.

The word gay is driving me crazy so i have barred it. Everything is gay, your gay, etc and i hate the term being used in this manner. The new rule last week: say it three times in one day then bed for 30 mins. Not sure how to extend this to his sullen ways, he wouldn't be out of his bedroom. I did tell him i'd barred negativaty now aswell- just looks at me like i've lost the plot!!

So will keep watching for more ideas.

Another thought aswell, is anything else going on that could be upsetting him? I know we get it more one day a week that a certain teacher is teaching him that he doesn't get on with.
