Just read alot of these threads here, sounds pretty much like my son!! He was fine after birth for about 3 weeks then thinks started to go wrong he would scream in convolsions for hours at end!! Doctor said to change milk to pregistimal and gaviscon, this didnt really do much, then he got broncilitus ande was admitted for 4 days, docftor at hospital said it was reflux and prescribed domperidone and rinitidine, and put back on SMA GOLD things got better whilst in there, at least he was prescribed the right things. Started solids about a month ago he is on 3 meals a day and loves his food (homemade) however he is still exremly grumpy you cant leave him for 5 minutes, cant keep him self occupied, has to be rocked to sleep, goes down for 3 naps a day, then bathed and in bed between 7 and 8pm, wakes a few times till about 9pm, then sleeps solid till i go up around 11, then will not settle at all for the rest of the night!!!!!!!! Will still drink 2 5 ounce bottles through the night. I am exhusted i also have a 2 year old girl and a nine year old to deal with aswell, and run a dance school. He has a follow up app at hospital next week but any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, {grin}

Sorry to hear that he's not having a good time.

Have you tried cranial osteopathy?

How much sleep is he getting during the day? You said 3 naps, how long for each nap?

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time, things will get better. My son cried nonstop for the first 4 months of his life and smiled late, he's almost a year old now and so much easier! He's still not much of a smiler but when he does smile, oh boy the girls better watch out!

Sounds a lot like my son, though mine wasn't diagnosed with reflux. Is he moving around yet? DS got a lot better when he started crawling, then again when he started walking. He is still quite grumpy but a lot less so than he used to be

DS stands for Dear or Darling Son

DS starting to move wasn't a miracle but it did help

The thing is people say that at 6-7 months, things get better and they do in a way but at the same time, they are developing so much at the moment that their sleep/eating habits are all over the place. I remember that at that time, DS was definitely doing the 40-minute sleep cycle thing and it used to drive me bonkers! Also, it was only about 7-8 months that DS started to self-settle. At his current age (getting close to 1), some things are so much better (i.e. he is okay with a one nap in the day for an hour though needs more if possible) and he doesn't go into meltdown when he gets overtired but there are other challenges (sleep still gets bad if he is teething etc) so try and ride it out.

Have you tried putting him down a bit earlier? Sounds mad but sometimes they get overtired and then sleep badly!
