How young can a baby start teething?

Because my 5 week old has a hard white spot on her top gum .

Oh, my friend's DD has this. She has had this for months, her lo is now 4-5months, apparantly its called a milk spot? We were just talking about this today as she is also teething.

I think it is harmless, hopefully someone else will come along and give you better info.
