shaking with excitement?

hello, dd almost 17months old has started doing a very odd thing throughout the day, she sort of freezes, clenches her hands and teeth and trembles!!! I think it's excitement, but i'm a bit perplexed -

I have vague memories of my sister doing this when we were small, but dd seems to do it for seemingly not that exciting things (although they must be to her!) Please can anyone shed light on this?

TIA

Yes, it's excitement! My dd went through a phase of doing it, and so did my friend's ds. I wish I could get that excited by life!

is it sort of like the shaking a bodybuilder does when lifting very heavy weights (with clenched teeth and wide eyes?)

dd1 (2.10) does this, usually when excited, sometimes when angry, and sometimes just randomly!

just want to say thank god it's not just my DS. Was a bit scary sometimes, like a (bad) Arnold Schwarzenegger impression

dd just liked being able to do it and she could do it at will....but when she first did it, it terrified me, i wonderered if she washaving an epileptic fit

yeah it is a bit like that lilquiddichkel!! am glad its normal(ish)! dd seems to be able to do it at will, and it's getting more frequent too!!

Don't get discouraged, but DS is now 2.9 and I can't recall the last time he did it. So you might have to put up with it for awhile. I tended to turn away to avoid giving attention to reinforce it (as I was quite scared too TBH!) and if anyone else was around just gave them that rolling-the-eyes-at-my-silly-child look. So far people still talk to us...
