Hello there - just looking for a little advice - I have an 18month old son who has a lovely temprement ( ?is that how you spell it??) but when he is tired or just over excited he can start to bite - definately not visciously as he is always in a good mood when he does it, but my god it now really bloody hurts cos he has a full set of teeth. No matter how firmly we tell him it's wrong, he just giggles....he does listen to 'no' about other things so not sure why he doesn't about this....personally feel he is too young yet for a naughty step thing but does anyone have any ideas?

My friend is going through the same with her son and looking for answers too.

Ds started doing exactly the same at this age - he is 22 months now, and still does it occasionally but is starting to grow out of it.

All we did was firmly place him away from us and say no - if he does it now, or hurts the cat then he gets put into the hall with the door closed for a minute, he knows that this is his naughty place

I have to admit that a couple of times if he bit more than once, or came at me purposely to bite I bit him back not hard, and just on the back of the hand but he seemed to understand then that it hurt and it was naughty.
