Hi my DD is nearly 2 and, following her lead, we are potty training now, the other night (after using the potty fine the time before) ran off into our bedroom, climbed on our bed and wee'd right by my pillow - then came and told us proud as punch!

We didn't react except by saying 'oh dear darling, maybe you could try and do it in the potty next time hey? as this isn't really the right place is it' or something like that.

I read that the last thing you should do is react or make a thing of it as this will prove they have gained a reaction and that's how behaviour is learned - by consequence. So i guess as long as you not making a deal of it and ignoring it as much as yuu can he might stop when he see's it's not making any impressions on you?

Or maybe it's a potty thingm could you try taking him our to buy a new potty or a big toilet seat as a change of scenary? or a reward system - if you don't wee on the carpet today you can have a sticker/playtime/10 mins extra telly etc - whatever works for you guys.

Good luck, i'm sure it'll pass x

Hi, when my Dd2 was born we had just potty trained my Ds1. He was dry night an day but started to pee on the rug in the living room. It went on for a few days with me getting very cross TBH. I then stopped showing any emotion when it happened, but went totally OTT when he went on the toilet/potty. We came up with a silly song an dance and everything! It worked really quickly! HTH
