(Namechange 'cos I'm embarrassed).

Please tell me there are other mothers of small children whose offspring are boob-obsessed.
My ds is just 3 and would spend all his time kneading, pressing and generally faffing about with them if I let him.
He's been doing it since he was a wee, breastfed little thing. At first, I didn't want to make a fuss when he was so very young, and then as it has carried on, I've been gently removing and distracting. To no bloody avail, I might add. I'm a bit fed up now, but a gentle 'no, those are mummies' causes a meltdown, esp. at bedtime, when he wants a cuddle.

Anyone else? What do you do? Or is my child just plain weird?

I so recognise this. My ds was exactly the same and at age 6 will try to kop a feel if he thinks he can get away with it. It's a comfort thing isn't it, left over from breastfeeding. THey associate it with warmth and food and being comfortable and happy.

At the age of 3 I didn't really worry about it. At home when we were having cuddles I wouldn't stop him from just putting a hand on my boob over my shirt for comfort but I drew the line at doing it in public and I quickly learnt not to wear lose blouses as he would frequently shove his hands up my shirt and grab both boobs and give them a big squeeze - he did this in a supermarket once which was mildly embarrasing.

I am sure our boys aren't weird and I would advise just gently moving away his hand and distracting him to avoid meltdown this will eventually do the job.

DS never took to bfing really but at 4.5 he has developd a huge interest in my boobs esp when I'm braless eg in my pj's, he always talks about nipples too, you are not alone.

Thanks - that very reassuring.
I try to stop him in public too, but when he's tired and resting against me - his little hand starts snaking around!

I'm going to carry on gently moving his hand away; it's got to sink in soon.....

Me too. My two year old constantly has his hand down my top. It drives me mad. I just keep saying no and hope he will get the message eventually. I have extrordinarily large breasts atm which I am very self concious about and I hate this drawing attention to them in public.
