Making Mum friends

I wasn't sure where to put this but thought this would do.

Has anyone else struggled to make any 'Mum' friends..........I've a 2yr old DS and work part time, I've moved area about 6 months ago and am struggling to make new friends - I go to the toddler groups but everyone already seems to be in friendships or don't seem to want to chat. I'm not shy and will initiate conversation but often pull back when I don't get much of a response...........how did you make your Mum friends??

I've always had trouble making friends. I think because I assume people won't like me. Don't want to be me friend.
I don't really have any friends and kinda hoped that I would make friends when I had a baby through the groups and the shared connection. My God, have I learnt that it is not that easy.

I don't feel I have met other mums that seem to want to make friends - if they do, they don't show it. But then, I probably don't show it too.

Maybe we all need to stop being so allufe and say let's meet for coffee, or Facebook me.

I don't live near any of you, I just like these forums. So it would be hard for me to visit, but I would love to make some supportive mum friends online. It seems like everyone here has children that are under the age of five though. Unfortunately, my oldest is sixteen and my youngest is nine years old, so I guess I don't really fit in here after all. :( However if you ever want to talk feel free to send me a message.
