Dd2 is 14 mths old dd1 is just 3. Dd2 seems to turn on the tears, tantrums or both as soon as I try to give dd1 any attention. Any wisdom on how to get her to stop as it really isn't fair on dd1?

Bumping for you.

could you try keeping her on your lap while you give dd1 attention? maybe reading to them both or getting them both engaged in the same activities like painting/ play dough. how old is dd1?

my 17 month old is like this whenever i do anything that means he's not the centre of attention, i answer the phone and he's wailing! thankfully he is an only dc but i do sympathise. xx

Watching this as the 17 month old I look after can be like this if her 4 y/o sister is anywhere near daddy or getting his attention - this also involves hitting/scratching and biting her.

have ds 2.11month and dd 18 months.

we get round this by giving ds some time alone when dd is having her afternoon nap. and once dd is in bed. me and ds have some 10-30minutes of time together.

i will do things with them together. dont give dd any personal time yet as very shortly ds will be going to nursery and dd will have me all to herself for half the day.
