5 month old won't sleep /teething

Hellooo!

Am writing this through bleary eyes....my 5 month old has always been a relatively good sleeper and we gave up night feeds over a month ago. He's also partially weaned (3 meals but only fruit and veg). For the past week or so he's been waking at 1130pm (bed is at around 730) and won't settle for ages, often not until we take him into our bed. He is teething and has been for a couple of months but I'm wondering if sleep gets worse as teething gets worse? He's dribbling lots, biting and I can see little white marks in his bottom gum...any ideas whether this nighttime behaviour plus the other symptoms mean a tooth may come soon?

Also, in your experience is it worth doing controlled crying with a teether or better to comfort them?

Thank you!x

Are you giving him any painkillers? SOunds like the teeth may be out of the gum quite soon if you can see them through the gum. I wouldn't do controlled crying when he's teething, no. He's in pain and needs more comfort and painkillers!

Thank you! Have tried calpol but it doesn't seem to make any diff...is ibuprofen worth a try?

It certainly is, but I don;t really think it improves sleep.

It's abslutely NOT worth doing CC while he's teething. Or IMO when he's so young.
