Which toys and games would you recommend for 14mo old?

I'm really trying to keep my boys entertained, but running out of ideas. With the weather being what it is, we are stuck indoors for most of the time. I don't like watching TV (well, apart from news and anything David Attenborough) so that's out, (don't want them to get used to the thing either .
Looking for musical and developmental toys and ideas for games to keep my dashing duo stimulated and entertained. Help, please!
All ideas greatly appreciated.

how about some scribbling drawing?

ds 2 -14 months -likes a packet of balloons blown up. He can move after it + ds 1 - 4.9 can kick them, without anything smashing.

Collect simliar things and put them in baskets/old boxes. Ds 2 likes plastic milk lids, shapes, blocks etc

Old boxes are fab, especially for boys

Got a keyboard? Piano? let them have a tinker. You can get bells, meracas, castanets relatively cheap these days.

Kneebouncers.com is great for littlies. It's a website where the games are very simple in that you just press any button on the keyboard and something happens -ds 2 like the peekaboo game.

Cornflower (can dye different colours) with a little water under clingfilm on the highchair tray or kitchen table. Great to squidge and press

Playdough? Can find recipes on the net and can add glitter, clour and scent.

How about gardening. We are planning an 'allotment' for ds 1 (a rectangular box not large!) I'll let ds 2 have a go with plastic spades and plant pots.

oh and when I hear ds 1 read I give ds 2 a book and say it's time for him to look at a book.
