DD is 12 months and still no teeth...anyone else had DC like this?

Title says it all really. DD2 is coming up for 13 months and still no teeth. It feels like there are at least a couple there but has been like this for months and still no sign of them coming through.

I am starting to worry she has none at all, can that even happen? Has anyone else had a child that hasn't got their first tooth until at least one?

my nephew didn't get his first teeth till after his first birthday -can't remember exactly but I think it was after 14 months.

Puddlet · 16/01/2009 20:32

My lo is 9 months and has no teeth. She's been teething on and off since 5 months with no result at all - very odd. I don't think it matters if it takes time - although I do think teeth would come in handy for eating harder foods.... I have a friend who got her first tooth at 18 months - but they were all there in the end.

claireybrations · 16/01/2009 20:34

DD got her first the wek of her first birthday and the second about a week later. She only had those two for months and months afterwards though. Then they seemed to come in twos and now at 2.7 she is just waiting for 3 molars

And weren't you on my antenatal thread? (Dec 07)

CarGirl · 16/01/2009 20:36

Hmmmm think ours went something like

Me: over a year old

dd1: 14 months
dd2: 14 months
dd3: 18 months
dd4: 10 months (completely shocker just looked in there one day and it was there!!)

NimChimpsky · 16/01/2009 20:38

Within normal parameters. Only start to think about doing something if they reach 18 months without any teeth.

DD didn't get any till 1 and now at 20 months is still missing some she should have got months ago.

Apparently there's some genetic tendency to it. Neither me nor my brother had teeth until we were 14 months.

HSMM · 16/01/2009 20:49

My DD was around 13 months

jasper · 16/01/2009 20:49

Dead common.
Stop worrying.

( I am adentist by the way. I want all eruption dates of teeth tables banned-they are pure fiction !)

FurryFox · 16/01/2009 20:59

Thanks everyone, I feel much better now, I knew I was worrying over nothing DD1 was ten months when she got her first so still reasonably 'late' I guess.

clairey - yep I was on the Dec 07 AN thread and the PN thread for a while but just couldn't keep up. Still lurk though

Hi furryfox (I too remember you from Dec 07!)

I seem to remember a while back someone posted to day their dd didn't have any until she was 16mo... but had a full set by the time she was 2

dustyteddy · 16/01/2009 21:10

My dd is nearly 13 months and still no has no teeth. I am still bf so am quite happy about lack of teeth!

jasper · 16/01/2009 21:22

dusty

Tickle · 16/01/2009 21:30

yep all mine at around a year or older...

yah boo sucks then to my mum who put every grizzle down to 'teething', bless her

Biggest ones are also slow losing their milk teeth, which I quite like, as they are older to look after the permanent ones properly!
