When do babies stop getting wind?

Just wondering if anyone elses DCs still suffer from trapped wind, my DD is nearly 14 months and is waking during the night, sometimes through teething but sometimes with wind. When I pick her up she often burps, or I can just hear it in her stomach. I used to give her infacol and was thinking of going back to it or is there something else I can use now shes older? Also, she gets a lot of wind coming out the other end too!

I'm no expert but was wondering if maybe she has an intolerance to something that she is eating that may be causing excessive wind.

HV may have more clues.

Have you tried massaging her tummy? If they don't do baby massage courses via the hv's in your area you could maybe get a dvd from the library?

My two stopped having 'baby wind' as soon as they started eating sitting up but seem to be regressing now - at 4 and 2.6 they have started finding 'burping' funny and do it for ages after each meal

Hi,
would recommend colic relief massage as it breaks up the gas in the baby and helps him/her expel more efficiently, sometimes their little bodies just need extra help...!

Try the massage in Vimala McClure's book Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents, so hopefully no reliance on meds...! gd luck!

3 months seems to be good time. My 5 month old still gets wind, but not painful.
