When did you take the baby kit off your tripp trapp?

We just did. DD2 is 24 months. She's now being a total PITA, climbing up into it, then hurling herself out of it giggling. Sure we will be at A+E before bed time at this rate.

I haven't yet as ds still very wriggly in his chair at 2.7 years. He's also pretty small for his age. Can you put yours back on again if you're worried she's not safe?

Never used one. From 18 months we fastened on a little harness (you know some sets of baby reins come with high-chair loops). About 2 years old didn't need it any more. The reason we went for a TT was so the kids could climb up and down safely via the step, instead of teetering and toppling off normal booster seats. The novelty will wear off, don't worry.

Just did. DD is 21 mo.

MissAnthrope · 10/01/2009 17:07

Sometime around 18mths.

DD is now 2.3 and I've had to lower the seat as we did have a spate of accidents to begin with. The novelty soon wore off and she's more prone to climbing on (and trying to launch off) the normal dining chairs now.

thanks for replies. I wondered if we were doing it too early, but I guess not.

Tonight she ate her tea then announced the was finished long before everyone else and refused to stay at the table. Anticipating a battle of wills and many many strops over the next few days/weeks.

Just did it - DS 20 months.

Washersaurus · 10/01/2009 21:48

Honestly? Both my DS' couldn't fit into their seats with the baby set on, not long after their 1st birthdays when we had to move the seat base down .

We just use a harness on the chair;although DS2 (17mo) rarely has his harness on these days as likes to climb up and down, on and off, his chair himself (repeatedly) .

TheYearOfTheCat · 11/01/2009 22:38

My DS pushes his around the kitchen to serve as his own personal ladder to assist reaching all the dangerous things on the counters.

We have that too. If I start doing something interesting at the cooker, all of a sudden two Tripp trapps are sliding towards me like Daleks with little people hidden behind them.

My dd (almost 2) climbs in and out of hers expertly with the baby set on keep meaning to take it off

We have the darlek tripp trapp thing going on here too! Even the poor cat's old quiet sleeping place on top of the aquarium is no longer safe from small children.

Jen1978 · 14/01/2009 15:18

Am intrigued by all of this! DS1 is 2o mths and I have only just started thinking about taking the baby set off but wasn't sure if it was too early or not, I guess not! He is fine with it atm tho so not sure I will do it yet as I can't bear the idea of him climbing in and out all the time!! We do have the darlek effect tho, but with a stool, its so annoying but so funny too! Cat used to love sitting on top of the aquarium as it was the only safe plcae out of reach, but that is not more!
