My 23 month old wants to drag me everywhere...

...My little boy is going through a phase of wanting me to be with him all of the time including when we are at play groups etc. He drags me around the place and if I say no he screams etc. Anyone have any sugeestions how to deal with this?

i'd just go with him to be honest. think they all go through clingy phases. is there no way of edging away when he gets engaged in something or keep talking to him but gentley step away so he gets used to you being further away from him?

My DS went through a similar phase. I felt that everyone else's child was 'independent' but, as meandjoe says, they all go through these phases.

I just went with him so that he became more confident over a couple of weeks. Now he just brings me toys to look at and then toddles off to play.

Hang in there. Enjoy his affection as it won't be long before he'll leave home, won't call, won't remember your birthday...!
