Only in her cot at bedtime. Its almost as if its for comfort ????? However, it is really hard and she often has marks or cuts on her forehead from rocking back and forth hitting her head against the solid end of the cot.

Also highly irritating for us as if she rouses in the middle of the night she does it to get herself back to sleep but it is very loud and so I am still getting up to her just to stop her doing it.

Any tips or advice??? Thanks. x

An old colleague of mine had a Dd that did that too...she ended up scarred on her forehead and the hospital had notes on her notes so that she didn't get passed on to SS. She was also a teenage bedwetter. No idea if any of it was connected. She still bed wet when she got married and had her own Dc's.
What I'm trying to say is that it's not uncommon. Have you spoken to the GP or HV?
Hope it sorts itself out soon for you.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Last night was particularly awful and she has woken up with a hurt forehead.

I am sad for her as it must hurt and it will probably hurt until it heals altho won't heal if she carries on, iykwim??!

She isn't an unhappy child, in fact the most well behaved and cheery out of all 3 children!

I hope things get better...children are such a worry, even without all these extra things.

You didn't say whether you'd approached your doctor or health visitor about it. I think I'd do so in your position. It can't hurt surely?

It must give her a headache if nothing else. How long has she been doing this for?
