aww meggy its great when they say their first word. My ds was ish for fish and he went over a pointed to the fish. Congrates and u should be proud

what age is your ds? I'm sure people think I'm nuts for going gaga over the simplest thing my ds does. But its all so exciting isn't it. Unless you are experiencing it - it just seems trivial.

Make the most of all the firsts and stuff anyone who doesn't find it amazing. Either they're not parents or they've forgotten what it was like. I remember DS1s firsts really fondly, DS2s just weren't the same somehow.

DS1s first word was Duck. I've no idea what DS2s was

Its great - I phone Psychomum with every teeny new thing that DD does, and she is either odd and gets excited easily, or she humours me well . It was the phone call to tell her that DD had peed in the potty that my DP thought might be odd....

Ahh. I cant wait until my DS says his first word. Got a while yet though... he's only 10 weeks. But when he smiled for the first time i nearly cried! i took a photo on my phone and sent it to my DP who was at work.

That really is something to be proud of MM.

My dd is 18 months and hasn't said her first word yet!

My little boy is 10 months old too and put his arms up in the air last night for me to pick him up - I was over the moon! Even though he is my fourth baby, the excitment never gets any the less . I've just bought a baby sign language DVD and started showing him the signs for milk, water and eat - I feel pretty daft doing it in public . When did you start signing? Do you go to classess? There is nothing in my area at all (Liverpool).

Have you started to write down all the little 'firsts' and the date they did them? I started to with my others but got sidetracked. I've started another book with my ds and will keep it up.

Can you tell me which DVD you use? I've got the QuickStart System by Joseph Garcia - it seems good for the basics but I'd like to learn more. Where did you get yours from?

Just thought i'd add ds first word - "oof" He thinks he's a dog as there are three that live next door!!!

Can I just say it's not silly that you are bursting with pride about this - its a milestone - and there'll be no stopping him now!!
